MICHMIKA Concept Store

Background
MICHMIKA is a online-only Singaporean luxury brand. Established in 2020, the foundation of the brand was built upon capturing the mood at the moment - to reflect the constant change of modern times and its universal language. As a high fashion brand, they produce on demand, with a commitment to sustainability and slow fashion.

The Brief
To create an experiential store concept for MICHMIKA as they did not have a physical flagship store. For this, I proposed a pop-up store located at ION Orchard, due to the high foot flow and consumer behaviour at the mall.
Concept
The store was split into two, each representing one collection. The Tide was inspired by androgyny, movements, and designed for a fluid lifestyle. On the other hand, Newstalgia was based off constructing something to feel old, even when it was new.
With that, 2 original sculptures were created to be placed on either side of the store, serving as landmarks representing the two different sides of the store. The sculpture for the Tide was inspired from coral and ocean life, while Newstalgia was more abstract in order to show the passage of time.

Features
Besides the original sculptures in store, I included phygital tools in the store, such as AR mirrors, where customers could try on the clothes. This was in line with MICHMIKA's belief in sustainability and producing on demand, so as to avoid the brand having to produce stock in order to fill the store.
