This was an assignment in my first semester of studies. The brief was very simple: use organic patterns on whatever subject we desired. It was originally a pop-up project, but I opted to showcase it in its scanned look so that the details on the orcas can be seen more clearly.
I decided to draw Orcas as they are my favourite sea animal, and the concept of “Echolocation” to go with it, which is the language used between these whales. The theme is more prominent with the pop-up though, with the pop-up designed by myself in a sonic wave pattern.
