Celebrating Our Differences, 2023
Project title: Celebration Of Our Cultures (Korea and Singapore greeting card design)
Materials: Acrylic paint, Canva (for text)
Description: My design features the skyline in Singapore and Korea, showcasing well known locations like the Singapore Flyer and Marina Bay Sands from Singapore, as well as the Lotte World Tower from Korea. The two people on the opposite sides of the card are the air stewardesses of the Korean Air and the Singapore Airlines. In the design, the air stewardesses look like they are taking a selfie with the skyline in each other’s country. I think that it is suitable as flight crew often get the chance for some sightseeing when they have landed. This adds to the theme of ‘Celebration Of Our Cultures’ between Singapore and Korea, as a realistic image of the connection between the countries is shown in the greeting card.
Bliss (Self Portrait), 2023

Description: This was an experimentation of using colours to convey emotions. In this work I wanted to convey the happiness that comes with laughing and making jokes with the people we love. The derby hat is the hat that Mr. Cheerful (from Little Miss collection) wears. I included it as it was a part of my childhood which I think brings me more warmth and happiness.
Dreamland, 2023
Materials: Watercolour, colour pencils, black pen
Description: This was an experimentation of using colours to convey emotions. In this work, I wanted to replicate the feeling of nostalgia. I chose the colours green, pink, purple, and blue as I think they make a mystical and dreamy colour combination. The painting features some things from childhood - a VCD player, and the Singaporean snacks Kueh Piring and the icing gem biscuits.

Description: This was an exercise to experiment with typography. The 'fonts' I made were based on keywords given for the assignment - breaking, distortion, melting, and bouncing, respectively.
