An activation that sends families on the world’s first virtual holiday amusement park ride using video call
and T-Mobile’s 5G network. It combines a virtual roller coaster with live web conferencing, interactive video
and immersive theater in a blend that works.
T-Mobile brilliantly combines conventional Christmas tradition and cutting edge technology with the launch of Santa’s Stream-Along. Built for today’s world of virtual connection, the interactive experience takes families on a sleigh ride through the North Pole, with stops at Iceberg Beach, Candy Castle, Santa’s Cottage, Giant Pine Grove and Santa’s Toy Factory – all built using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine.
Far from an off-the-shelf virtual experience, participants are guided through the North Pole by a real, live Santa Claus.
Each Sleigh Stop is an interactive scene where riders can chat with Santa and interact with the environment.
All scenes are exterior shots in which we’re occasionally able to see inside buildings.
THE LIVE EXPERIENCE
The ride-along is built using CG footage of winter wonderland scenes paired with a live Santa
filmed on a green screen. Participants experience the ride from a first person perspective,
seeing what it feels like to ride-along with Santa and his furry crew.
THE JOURNEY
The user journey is a a choose your own adventure where riders will choose
three Sleigh Stops out of five options. There are five magical stops and three for families to pick.
All scenes ideally have moments in which riders can interact with the environment.
During the 8-10 minute experience, riders get to chat with a live Santa tour guide, visit three out of the five Sleigh Stops, and interact with the world around them. The experience ends with a photo-op moment—providing riders with a takeaway that can be shared on social.
THE MAGICAL LAND OF NORTHPOLE
There are five magical stops and three for families to pick. All scenes ideally have moments in which riders can interact with the environment. We built a fantastical North Pole world comprised of five holiday scenes.
Families will be able to experience three stops of their choice, hosted live by Santa himself.
ART DIRECTION
A large CGI North Pole world is home to our five Sleigh Stops — unique
holiday scenes filled with festive characters and narratives.

Each sleigh stops will populate with characters with unique holiday props
that that could interact with the riders.
Backgrounds & Environment
The atmosphere of the backgrounds are consistent and will resonate
the whimsical vibes of the themes of each environment.
3D Assets & Modeling
The direction of the animation style is in 3D low poly look with caricature-style looking characters
that will define the playfulness of the holiday festive scenes.
ANIMATION w/ UNREAL ENGINE
Reindeer Runway (Take Off Scene)
A snowy runway on the side of a mountain that overlooks the entire North Pole.
The runway is lined with Christmas lights and serves as the start of the ride.
Cloud Transition Sequence
After the take off, Santa announces the next stop when the sleigh is above the clouds.
The area is filled with twinkling Northern Lights and clouds that serves as a transition
between sleigh stops, and in which riders select their destinations.
