World renowned architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Daniel Libeskind, or Peter Zumthor, have inspired countless of designers throughout the years. These architects have designed thousands of the most prominent buildings the world has ever seen. From the 'Falling Water' house by Frank Lloyd Wright to the 'NingBo Historic Museum' by Wang Shu. There is no doubt that every aspiring designer can learn so much from these great architects.
There are also many other countless topics that have made an impact onto the world of design. Such topics include: 'semiotics', 'pop-art', 'film theory'. Each design movement hold great influence on the world of today and it is important for any designer to come to understand them.
The objective of this project was to research on renowned architects and design theories/topics, and record down my own thought processes of the arguments that I had onto a visual theory journal. This project enabled me to practice articulating my own design philosophies, textually and visually.
The project was divided into 2 parts. The first part was a compilation of all the findings and arguments of the initial research topics given into a e-portfolio located on a 'Wix' website. The second part was a compilation of all the research conducted into a physical theory journal.
