In its climate strategy, EPFL identified that travel accounted for 35% of its CO₂ emissions. The goal is to reduce these emissions by 30% by 2030.
Travel, especially intercontinental, is EPFL's primary source of CO₂ emissions. However, visualizing tons of CO₂-eq remains abstract for many.
We set up an exhibition in the heart of the EPFL campus, using colored cubes to materialize emissions. These cubes represent, for instance, the average annual emissions of an individual in Switzerland or those generated by specific flights. The exhibition is complemented by posters and testimonies from EPFL community members, as well as infographics tailored for social media.
