PROJECT DESCRIPTION
For this typography assignment, I chose the lyrics from one of my favorite songs, “Super Shy,” by the K-pop group NewJeans. I started the project using the Rectangle Tool to put a rectangle shape on the artboard. Then, I filled the rectangle with a light pink and purple gradient. Then, I used the Rectangle Tool again, putting no fill color, but I chose a deep purple shade for the stroke. Now, I created a border in front of the gradient. Next, I used the song's chorus for the typography words, “I'm super shy, super shy. But wait a minute while I make you mine, make you mine.” I used a total of 4 different Y2K fonts that I found on cufonfonts.com. First, I put the “I'm super shy, super shy” part in the top left corner, with the words stacking each other. Also, I used the font “koffins” in white, adding a purple drop shadow effect to show depth. Next, I used Adobe Illustrator for the “But wait a minute while I” lyrics. With the Ellipse Tool, I created a white circle for the back. Next, I used the Ellipse Tool again and the Type on a Path tool on the circle to get the words around. Also, I put a light pink drop shadow under the words. I used the Costa Nova font for the words in the circle, like a clock. For the heart, I used the Envelope Distort feature in Adobe Illustrator to get the text inside the heart. The font I used was Brasika for the “make you mine, make you mine” lyrics. Lastly, I added the band name NewJeans on the bottom left in the oval. The font I used for the band name is Stora. Also, I added some simple music notes using the Custom Shape Tool for final touches. Adobe Photoshop provided the shapes, and I changed the colors with a shadow effect.
