Me-time means quality time dedicated to yourself. Visiting the zoo is a leisure activity for many. However, this type of entertainment is ethically questionable, since it is an exhibition of living creatures. As man continuously and violently expands, he increasingly displaces animals from their living space, forcing them into an artificial, zoological environment. This is not life as intended for them, it is only a slight imitation of it. By deliberately excluding the animals themselves from the series, I explore the spaces that contain them with an aim to strengthen our role as observers.The lack of animal themes will, I hope, redirect the attention to the human element and invite the viewer to introspect and think about our motivations for visiting zoos and the complex relationship between animals and their observers.
