Hailey Mae's profile

Architecture | Performative Facade Studies

In this student project, we were assigned a building on campus and a precedent to explore -- in my case, the Olin Hall of Engineering (USC) and the Kunsthaus Bregenz by Peter Zumthor -- with the intent that we develop both our research abilities and our technical drawing abilities.  The next phase of the project was to use this found information to design a new performative facade for the campus building.  After this phase, we were assigned a new but related precedent -- mine being the Police & Fire Station by Sauerbruch Hutton Architekten -- an asked to synthesize this new information into a facade that could be applied to an imagine wooden structure approximately the size of a family-unit home.
