About Me:
My name is Chad Hawkins and this is a showcase of my best work from the past two years of my Games Design and Development course. This portfolio includes examples of my developing skills and my creative process.
I used Adobe Fresco on my iPad to draw a character for my short horror film idea, this is the protagonist. I started by drawing basic guides to make sure the proportions of my character were correct and then added layers to add details.
These are mask designs that I sketched for my short horror film project. The killer in my story wears a self-made wooden mask so I tried coming up with a few different designs to see which one I liked most.
These are two game deconstructions that I completed for research. I wrote about the game concept, graphics, target audience, ethics and unique selling point for each game. This gave me a better understanding of what makes a successful game successful and what types of things I should do to make my own project popular among my target audience.
This is the first mind map of my game idea called "Megan!". I used Padlet to create the mind map and I wrote about my idea and refined the idea. I added details about the story of the game idea and how the mechanics would work.
This is the research I completed on Francisco Goya and his famous painting "Saturn Devouring His Son". I find this painting interesting because of how Goya created it and the setting that he painted it in.
