A project I'm working on currently is focused on archetypes. We’ve been challenged to create a piece of work that features or represents an archetype in some way. I plan on creating a title sequence with a rustic, old, traditional feel based on the king archetype. A text I have looked at for inspiration is the opening sequence for ‘24 Hour Party People’, it has a very shaky and handmade animation style which I’m working to replicate in my own work. I’m going to include a fleur-de-lis pattern, symbolizing royalty, and have been creating prints that I can digitize to then animate along with developing my own script font. In conjunction with this I’m going to use deep purples and reds. My next steps are to research further into symbolisms of, and colour related to royalty and the king archetype. I have begun developing my skills in adobe after effects for the first time, I’m looking to combine motion graphics with traditional animation. I do expect it to be a challenge to create something cohesive, however I’m willing to persevere and I am excited to see what is produced.
