CHALLENGE: Northeastern University's Snell Library current wayfinding system was frustrating library users and effecting library usage.
GOALS: Create a solution for better navigating the library and ultimately improve visitors' experiences.
EXECUTION: Conducted survey to define users frustrations. Used insights from the survey to inform wayfinding design. Designed a new wayshowing system – defined fonts, colors, map layouts, icons and symbols, as well as printing specfifications and signage locations throughout the interior of the library.
RESULTS: Outlined the wayshowing system in a custom designed, printed and handbound book abd presented to the library staff. This system has informed library improvements over the past several years.
