With the sponsorship of the American Heart Association, my team worked with promoting the importance of heart health at a local park, Riverside Park, in Providence, RI. We recreated the park’s brand identity with the use of bilingual signage and a fun playground.
The renderings used to visualize the playground were inspired from the park's natural landscape: flowers, grass, the river, and, of course, the heart.
The park had existing signs that informed visitors of what the park had to offer in terms of vitalizing the environment, but they lacked attention and could not reach their audience as the community is primarily Hispanic. My team revamped these signs to reach both the American and Hispanic audience, especially children.
To heighten awareness of the importance of heart health even further, we made brochures that promote the well-being of the environment. These brochures were made for visitors, yes, but more importantly, students, too. The park is well-known for its usage of outdoor classrooms from nearby elementary schools and we used this to make it easier for both students and teachers to understand ecology and heart health better.
