Inchmore Island is a privately owned island on Lough Ree. Generations of my relatives have lived on the Island. This piece is about intrusion, and how it is difficult to prevent intrusion by both man and nature.
I looked at the way in which people lived on the Island. A visit to the National School, where the islands children would have attended, gave me insight into how life would have been for them. The preservation of the Island is hard to achieve. I want to express through my work its beauty and character.
