There are Only 24 Hours in a Day

There are Only 24 Hours in a Day
My job was to create a photo realistic watch. This watch had to be so realistic that you couldn't tell the difference between a real watch and the vector watch.
The main goal of this project was to teach me how to create professional looking designs in Adobe Illustrator by learning different tools.
I started out by sketching details that I saw on the watch. I looked at the different components as well as what makes it look the way it does. For example number 21 was me trying to figure out what gives the leather the illusion that it is wrapping around something.
This project took a TON of trial and error. There are so many fine little details you could spend 6 hours on one component. This project also took a lot of input from others. Some feedback I received was that the metal was too sharp, the shadows on the metal are to harsh, the highlight on the time piece is too bright, the highlights on the piece that holds the leather are not realistic, the center gear isn't detailed enough, and so on and so on. After all of this feedback I started to feel overwhelmed at all that had to be done.
There is more than meets the eye in this project. As I continued to work I had to add more and more shapes. The photo on the very left shows all of these shapes. Needless to say my computer about had a heart attack.
After hours and hours and hours of adding the tiniest of details I finally completed my photo realistic watch. This watch taught me many different tools that Adobe Illustrator has. This project also taught me how to look at specific details and then create them. However, the biggest thing this project taught me is that there are only 24 hours in a day.
