Elementaria is a project carried out as a group with Carl BLANDIN and Henri DAVID during one semester. It's a shoot'em up in which a mage must protect pillars against waves of enemies using elemental spells. My role in this project was Game Design and Visual Art Direction. I created the sprites and animations for the wizard, enemies, pillars, and spells. The visual art direction of this game is based on pixel art.

Wizard
The wizard depicted here is the player character.
 They are shown with four different states.

Spells
These spells are the player's defensive weapons.
A massive and explosive fireball, a fast and sharp ice spike,
 and a giant and repelling tornado.

Pillars
These are the elements that the player must protect.
These pillars can be destroyed by enemies.
There are three different pillars.

Before this project, I had no experience in Visual Art Direction. 
I opted for pixel art because it's a form I particularly enjoy
and it appeared beginner-friendly.
I learned pixel art for this project.
The sprites and animations for this project were created using the Aseprite software.
