THESE ARE THE PEOPLE I LOVE:

Career Goal Statement: I chose graphic design as my major because of my high school photography course. My instructor, Dr. Katherine Madden was incredibly influential on my creative process. As a result of her teachings, I fell in love with creating in Photoshop and other Adobe software's.
My ultimate goal is to be able to teach others how to effectively use their creativity by exhibiting the passion I have for design in a similar way to my high school photography teacher.

Project Background: "These Are The People I Love" was created to commemorate my friends at home. The project started by sorting through old artifacts in my dad's closet this last spring. In doing so, I found a Mini DV cassette camcorder. Immediately, I called my friend Cohen to pitch the idea of recording footage of my last summer before college. He emphatically agreed that it sounded like a great idea and the project started.
After an incredibly fun summer in Sacramento, San Francisco, Chicago, and multiple parts of Wisconsin, I sent off my tapes to be digitized. In the fall I had made a couple very rough drafts, but news of the department scholarship is what revived the project. I completely recompiled clips, color graded, and worked on graphics. Courtney taught me how to make a bitmap TIFF and recolor blacks and whites in InDesign and Photoshop. This is how I made the graphics of my friend's heads in the introduction, which is personally my favorite part of the video.
The experience not only brought about gratitude, a video I'm satisfied with, and lots of laughs, but a lot of new information about several Adobe features that I wasn't aware of. Even though I have yet to take graphic design classes here, I learned a lot with the help of Courtney, my fellow graphic design colleagues, and through countless hours of tinkering. I'm so grateful for what this project has provided me with and I look forward to making many more!
