Hair dryer remodeling
I chose my own hair dryer as the object for this project.
Challenges:
At first, I drew the profile line separately. It caused some problems, like the surface didn’t look smoothly and I had difficult time for making the details and combined each part together. Also, I'm a really newbie in Rhino. Although the professor gave lessons every week and I followed the tutorial doing a lot of practices, it was still quite difficult for me, especially I didn't majored in any design related subjects or areas but majored in anthropology while taking some designing courses back in my home university. Therefore, I struggled a lot when doing this project at that time.
Learning points:
But thanks to my professor and teacher assistant, I learned how to make the 3D modeling in a more effective and better way. Such as making the whole body first and then use ''Boolean split'' to separate it into different parts. In addition, how to use the function of ''array polar''. I’ve got improved exponentially!!!!
I really learned a lot through this project though I didn’t think that I can actually complete this modeling in the beginning. But it turns out that I can accomplish more than I expect!!!! I'm grateful for the assistance that I've received so that the outcome is great! Besides, I learn an important thing, that is, NEVER GIVE UP; then I can definitely achieve my goal in the end!
