When it comes to such an impactful issue like gun violence, it was important to me to consider how many individuals this truly affects. This matter involves children, teens adults, families, and everyone in between. Whether directly or indirectly, all of America has been impacted by gun violence in one shape or another. This was the original inspiration for creating such a design, as I wanted it to encompass everyone that calls the United States home. 

It is my hope that at a first glance the silhouette and icons placed within this design send an immediate message, but I also want the text to provoke more intellectual thought. The 'brave' could be open to anyone's interpretation, but in the end all citizens are now at risk of gun violence; we are all brave in some sense.
