Shoes pattern making and prototyping project

Papillon was my final project for the pattern making course at Arsutoria School in 2017. This project involved creating a shoe step by step, starting from the design phase and upper pattern creation and progressing to the prototype stage.
Design Concept
Drawing inspiration from the captivating beauty and vibrant colors of butterflies, my design incorporates the graceful shape and intricate patterns found in butterfly wings and an elegant d'Orsay silhouette. To infuse a playful yet feminine touch, I specifically selected contrasting colors of turquoise and orange. This combination adds a vibrant and energetic appeal to the overall aesthetic.

The Prototype Making Process
Starting with the design on the shoe last, the prototype making process involves creating the paper pattern, selecting the appropriate leather, cutting the leather pieces, stitching the upper, and finally lasting the shoe.
