FreeState Legal is a non-profit legal services organization that works to improve the lives of Maryland's low-income lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community by providing pro bono work to those who cannot afford legal services. The LGBTQ community is provided quality attorneys who will advocate on their behalf and who have specific knowledge of how the law effects the LGBTQ community. In addition, workshops and training sessions are held in various Maryland locations to educate the public about LGBTQ citizen's rights.
Goals
In collaboration with Nick Fogarty, we sought to help FreeState Legal better reflect and represent the population that they serve, educate legal and non-legal volunteers, donors, and clients about LGBTQ issues and rights, and to inform the Maryland community about FreeState Legal's services.
