This assignment asked for the deep, detailed study of an inanimate object. Eighty reference photographs were taken utilizing specific design requirements to show such things as symmetrical and asymmetrical balance, negative space, unusual points of view, the rule of thirds, scale, leading lines, diagonals and tangents. The strongest three designs were chosen to become digital paintings. Color schemes and swatches were created and utilized for each composition. Various brush types were explored and applied to add depth to the composition.
