This project is a movie poster I made for class a year ago. The prompt was to create a movie poster using only the title "The Heart," as there were no other instructions. I chose to do horror since I was browsing through several covers online and wasn't sure where I wanted to take them. My mother, who enjoys horror films, and I brainstormed as a group until I came up with a horror idea for the project. She also introduced me to Wes Craven, the director of Nightmare on Elm Street, which happens to be my mother's favorite film. As you look closely at his horror film covers, you get a sense that he loves to grab his viewers' attention with bright or dark, vibrant colors. Since that is a recurring theme in Craven's movie posters, I was inspired and was aiming to go in the direction he was aiming for.
