Branding a Next Generation Education
Next Generation Education. The Carl Remigius Fresenius Education Group - formerly Cognos AG - is one of the largest private education companies in Germany. It is the umbrella for a large number of well-known educational brands and operates technical colleges, universities and further education institutions in Germany and abroad. In the run-up to its 175th anniversary, we developed a design concept that gives the group a clear position in the education market of the future. The figurative mark encapsulates the narrative of the "Next Generation Education" brand in a memorable symbol. It visualises a forward-looking focus and conveys the central promise - education at all stages of life.

The design system combines the basic design elements: a timeless, modern font concept, high-contrast colours, a lively image concept and a flexible layout principle that also provides a large stage for the group's brands.

An illustration toolkit makes it possible to expand the image pool as required and to illustrate abstract themes. Icons and presentation elements are also part of the brand iconography.
The natural, positive imagery tells stories about the brand, presenting it as a company that inspires and shapes people's lives with education and prepares them for the opportunities of the future.



The Education Group comprises 18 brands in the school, university and further education sectors. Some 2,500 employees provide an excellent education to some 35,000 students in 60 countries.
