GWWO Architects's profile

Frederick High School

After completing a feasibility study in 2012, GWWO was selected to work with Frederick County Public Schools on the new $97M, 270,618-SF Frederick High School.  After exploring multiple options during the study phase, the Board of Education decided to build a replacement school on site.  The school is being designed to achieve LEED Silver for Schools.

Design efforts have focused on community engagement, trends in 21st century educational design, and flexibility.  Additionally, the design is intended to visually recollect the previous school building, which was of historical significance to the community, while providing new state-of-the-art teaching and learning spaces.
