The Brief
Blake Gotliffe is the Chef/Owner of Under The Oak Farm and Under The Oak Catering, successful businesses located in Smithfield, NC and Clayton, NC respectively. He asked me to help them create both a typeface logo and a monogram logo for their new wedding and events venue, Landon Estates, opening in 2025.
Blake was looking for an elegant design that highlighted the historical significance of pecans and their relationship to marriages, while maintaining a clean, formal elegance to the design.

The Solution
During the design process, Blake and I worked through no less than four completely original concepts, before landing on a designs that we were both proud of and fulfilled the vision.

The typeface logo utilizes complementary fonts to create a modern approach that stands out from the majority of event venues in the area. The fine line work of the pecan branch draws the eyes towards the center and emphasizes its symbolism and importance.
This monogram logo uses a fine line font to add a level of elegance and balance to brand identity as well as maintain the pecan branch symbolism.
