Hijiki Sushi Restaurant

Hijiki Sushi Restaurant - College Project
Hijiki is a fictional sushi restaurant, promoting a healthier choice of sushi to the Aberdeen market.

I took inspiration for my logo from the traditional Japanese symbol of a crane, which represents longevity, showing the healthiness of Hijiki's food. I wanted to avoid the cliche sushi restaurant colour scheme of red and black, so went with a light green as the main colour, also reflecting the health aspect.

My pattern takes inspiration from the traditional musubi pattern of pine needles, which also symbolises longevity, continuing this theme.

My poster brings in a new cream colour to the branding, which is often used in Japanese interior design. It works well with the existing colour scheme and continues the natural themes.
