WARBY PARKER MURAL

Surface Design
I recently had the pleasure of collaborating with Warby Parker on a mural for their store in Menlo Park, New Jersey. This project allowed me to extend my artistic exploration into three pieces: the main mural of the store, and two additional pieces crafted for in-store display and poster art.

Main mural for the store
The brief challenged me to create visuals that reflect the essence of Warby Parker’s identity—innovative and dynamic. The concept I developed plays with the spectrum of visibility and perception, echoing the core function of eyewear. The piece walks on the boundary between the figurative and the abstract. What is recognizable by sight? This image only comes together once you focus on putting the pieces together. It’s a dialogue between seeing and not seeing, which feels particularly resonant for a brand dedicated to enhancing visual experience.
My work is known for its rhythm and boldness, qualities that animate this mural and its accompanying artworks. The use of repetition and contrast keeps the viewer’s experience almost in constant motion, inviting onlookers to engage with the art on a deeper level.

As a Latin American illustrator based in NYC, I aim to bring a piece of my heritage and perspective into the canvas of this city’s diverse cultural scene. This project with Warby Parker not only was an opportunity to challenge my creative boundaries but also a chance to connect with a wider audience who might appreciate the kinetic energy and vibrant storytelling of my work.

Below is some of the process for the illustrations. I start with very loose sketches and slowly build up patterns and repetitions of shapes to create rhythms to coexist with the characters (which are usually in some sort of motion). the goal is always to try to get music out of a 2d illustration. :)
For anyone curious by the interplay of color and form, or those drawn to the narrative power of visual art, I invite you to view this project and more of my works on my Behance page.
I am constantly exploring how art can transform spaces and perceptions.
Thank you so much for watching :)
