PROJECTION MAPPING
Song: Sleep Paralysis Demon by Ethan Bortnick
Projection mapping uses a projector to create animated scene across complex and multiple planes. The goal of this project was originally to understand the cross functionality of After Effects and Cinema 4D. It built up into a full show that I was able to showcase at the BVU Artist in Residence showcase. While it is incredibly difficult to showcase a projection mapping video in 2D I have a full breakdown of the compositing, individual elements, and a behind the scenes look at how the various pieces were achieved.
Everything was procedurally generated so that the music pulled you through the visuals and it wasn't just an aid to the visuals and vice versa. All of the VFX, Brightness, Blur, and Subwoofer Orb were mapped to the amplitude of the song with the use of expressions within After Effects.
