Part 1 - Research and Brainstorming
1. What is your movie concept?
Several people are unknowingy locked in a room in which they find themselves helpless within. As they try to find a way out, they discover a roulette surrounded by them. The roulette has the names of each individual in the mysterious room written on it. It randomly chooses a name every few minutes — names of the ones who are next... to die.
2. What is the genre?

It's filmed in one room, the roulette chooses who dies next, and people die differently and mysteriously.

The school (dark room, field, etc.)
Movie Purpose:
As a group develop 1-2 paragraphs outlining the plan for your movie using the points mentioned above.
We are planning to film this movie in one area; a room. We were thinking of a boiler room type setting. We as a group would each split the roles and responsibilities of the project evenly so we all have the fair share of contributing to the film and its production. For the actors of the films, they will help us with the script writing and character development. Since we are still under pre-production, this is the general idea of our movie plan and purpose.

- Momento
- The similarities between our short film and the Saw series is that in both movies they are playing some type of "game", the survival of the fittest.
- The similarities between our short film and the movie "Momento", is that both movies are filmed in a enclosed room where the characters of the film have no idea how they got there.
- We can make the movie different by adding twists and have different character personalities from the other movies. We also have the general idea of the start and ending of the film which is completely different for the other movie's start and end (check part 2 for the general concept of the film)

(Mark slowly starts to open his eyes)
Zack: Don’t worry, I got this. (Drags Mark to center)
Johnny: Woah! Zack, too rough. (interfere)
Mark: What the- Where am I?!
Zack: That’s what we’re trying to figure out. (Throw Mark into center of the room)
Mark: Who are you people?! (Looks around room. Camera in his perspective)
Johnny: I’m Johnny – (extends hand)
(Zack looks for a way out) (Mark watches him)
Mia: We haven’t found a way out of here. Y’know, if you were wondering or whatever. (to mark)
Johnny: (Sigh) This fine gentleman over here is Zack, and the lady over there is Mia.
Mark: I – I’m Mark. (Takes hand) So, where exactly are we? (Nervous, scared voice)
Zack: Like I said, we don’t know.
Johnny: Your guess, is as good as ours. We all woke up in this room without a clue of where we are or how we got here. Searched the whole place, found nothing that could help us figure this out.
Zack: Not to mention all the exits are barred shut! (Kicks the door, hurts foot)
Mia: Clearly, Zack is the genius of the group.
Zack: What did you say?! (Looks at her angrily)
Mia: I’m sure an intelligent young man like yourself could figure it out. I mean, brute force has been working out soo well for the past few HOURS that we’ve been here.
Zack: Okay, That’s it! (Throws Mark out of the way and makes a run for Mia)
Johnny: (stops Zack from running at her) Zack calm down!
Zack: Maybe you should tell her to shut up first, then maybe I’ll consider!
Johnny: We have to stay calm and work together if we want to get out of here! You know that more than I do!
(Mark screams)
Johnny: What’s wrong?
Mark: What the hell happened to my arm?! (On arm there is a number 1)
Johnny: Take it easy, Mark. Don’t panic. I’ll explain.
Mark: What do you mean?
Johnny: We all have numbers. (Shows number 2 on his arm, then number 3 on Mia, and 4 on Zack)
Johnny: We’re guessing it has something to do with this. (points to Roulette Table)
Mark: What’s that?
Johnny: It’s a Roulette Table. Kinda strange to be in a place like this. We tried to move it but – (Tries to move it) – it won’t budge. Even stranger, it has only four numbers on it. 1. 2. 3. and 4. We’re guessing it has something to do with the numbers on our arms.
Mark: So what’s gonna happen?
Johnny: No idea, all we can do for now is sit here and wait. Unless you know something.
(Mark starts to think and then gets frustrated)
Johnny: Hey, don’t be so hard on yourself man, it’s okay if you don’t know. Just … uhm … (looks around the room) make yourself at home for now.
(Mark sits near Mia’s corner)
Mia: Hey, you hungry?
Mark: Yeah, Sort of.
Mia: When in doubt (whispers) we could always eat each other.
(Mark looks scared)
Mia: Haha. I’m kidding, relax.
Zack: Don’t even joke about that kinda stuff, Mia!
Johnny: Mia has a point, we need to think about how we’re gonna survive here.
Zack: Don’t take her side, Johnny!
(Mia licks her lips at Zack)
(Zack glares back in anger)
Zack: If I’m eating anyone, I’m eating you first! (At Mia)
Johnny: Well then, now that we’re all on the same page. Zack, since you’ve got the most meat on your bones…
Mia: All in favor.
(Everyone, but Zack puts up their hands)
Zack: Screw you guys!
Johnny: Are you a righty or a lefty? (To Zack)
Zack: What?
Johnny: Righty or Lefty?
(Johnny licks lips at Zack’s arm. Zack looks at arm, then at Johnny)
Johnny: No! No chance! I wouldn’t even let you eat my fingernail, let alone my arm!
(All laugh)
(Ticking sound starts in the distance. Ticking gradually cuts through the laughter)
(Laughter dies down and all notice the ticking and look at the roulette wheel. Mark, Mia and Zack, panicked, look at Johnny for guidance)
Johnny: (takes deep breath) everyone just stay calm. Just stay calm.
Mia: What’ll happen when it stops?
Johnny: I don’t know.
Zack: What if something bad happens?!
Johnny: I. Don’t Know.
(Mark starts pacing back and forth.)
(Zack goes towards the wheel)
(Mia stands up)
Mia: What are you doing?! (Accusing tone)
Zack: Protecting you guys!
Mia: We’ll, we’re fine!
Zack: Yeah, for now! Howbout when this thing stops, huh? What then?
Mia: Ugh! You’re acting like an idiot! Maybe, for once, you should think about what you’re going to do before you do it! Instead of putting us all in danger!
(Mark begins to pace more)
Johnny: (Getting frustrated and annoyed). Stop! Everyone stop! Stop moving! Stop talking! Everyone pick a wall and sit at it! Now!
(Wheel stops spinning as Johnny stops shouting, ball lands on the number two)
Zack: It’s the number two.
Mia: But that means…
(Everyone looks at Johnny’s arm with the number two. Johnny looks down at his number)
Johnny: (Takes deep breath). See. It’s Fine. Everything is just fi – (Stops talking. Coughs out blood. Goes onto hands and knees.
Zack: Johnny, what’s wrong! Hey man, speak to me! (Looks at face. Blood leaking from eyes and nostrils)
Mark: Oh my God.
Zack: Johnny. JOHNNY. WAKE UP MAN. CMON, WAKE UP!
Mia: He’s dead, Zack. I’m sorry, but he’s dead.
Zack: Shut up!
Mark: No listen! We’ll all be dead too if we don’t think of something before it starts spinning again, okay. We know what it does now.
Zack: (points at Mark) Stop taking. This is all your fault!
Mia: What?
Mark: How is this my fault?
Zack: Think about it Mia. Everything was going fine until HE woke up! That’s when the stupid thing started ticking. (walks towards Mark) and then it killed Johnny! (Picks up Mark by the shirt pushes against wall) THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!
Mark: (Laughs) YOU IDIOT! JUST STOP!
Mia: Put him down Zack! This isn’t Mark’s fault! This is no one’s fault. Killing Mark is only gonna add to the number of bodies! Do you want that? Do you want more people to die?
(Punches the wall. Drops Mark and walks away)
Mark: You think I’m afraid of you? This thing is scarier than you are! You and all your muscles couldn’t make me the least bit terrified. Even if you tried to kill me! ‘Cause I’d be able to see you coming! But this thing, I don’t even know how the hell this thing works.
Zack: What are we going to do then? Wait for the next person to drop dead?
Mark: We should plan.
Zack: No, we’re going to find a way out of here.
Mia: Mark, has a point. We need to be prepared for when that thing starts again. What did you have in mind Mark?
Mark: I’m thinking.
Zack: We don’t have time to be “thinking”! We need to get out of here before that thing starts ticking again.
(Zack starts inspecting the room for possible exits)
(Looks up at vent)
(Mia and mark ignore Zack while they think of a plan)
Mark: Maybe we stop it from even starting
Mia: How?
Mark: Hold it in place?
(Zack tries to reach vent and cannot)
(Mark and Mia put their hands tightly on the post of the roulette wheel)
Mark: I don’t know if this is gonna work.
Mia: Well we have to try. What other option do we have?
Zack: Guys come here! I think I found an exit! C’mon! I need someone to boost me!
(Mark and Mia look at each other unsure of what they should do)
Mia: Mark, you should go check if Zack’s right.
(Mark gets up and makes his way to Zack)
(Hears a gear turn on. Everyone looks at the table. Starts spinning again)
Mia: – Ticking…
Zack: C’mon! We have no time to waste!
(Mark standing in the middle of Mia and Zack)
(Mark hesitates, then goes to Zack)
Zack: We can get out through the vent.
Mark: Are you joking? None of us could fit in there!
Zack: Just boost me!
Mia: MARK!
(Mia is struggling to keep the wheel from moving)
Mark: Thanks, but no thanks. You’ve wasted enough time already!
(Mark runs to Mia)
Mia: Mark hurry! It’s starting to move!
(The tension on the wheel has built up so much that it breaks Mia’s grip on it)
(Wheel wildly spins out of control)
(Mark quickly tries to grab the post of the roulette wheel)
(But quickly retracts it, like sticking your hand into a moving fan)
Mark: Zack get over here!
*Zack tries to help stop the wheel*
(Ball stops lands on number 3)
(Zack and Mark look at arms then at Mia concerned)
(Mia stares dead eyed at the roulette wheel)
(Mia starts to cry)
(Mark rushes to Mia as she begins to collapse)
(Zack stands in shock)
(Mia’s nose begins to leak blood as she lies in Mark’s arms)
Zack: MIA!
(Mark stares blankly at the ground, defeated)
Mark: Why didn’t you help us Zack?…
Zack: What!?
(Mark shakes his head)
Zack: Don’t blame this on me! How do you even know if your plan would’ve worked?
Mark: If we held it in place for long in enough, maybe we could’ve outlasted the ticking.
Zack: You don’t know that for sure.
Mark: How do you know if the vent would’ve worked any better? Look we’re talking in circles pointing fingers at each other.
(Mark sits in corner across from Zack, standing)
Zack: What should we do then?
Mark: Just … Go away.
Zack: Go where?
Mark: Just … I don’t know … Pick a corner or something.
(Zack is about to argue, but looks at how dead mark looks and does as he says)
(Silence fills the room as zack and mark sit opposite each other)
Zack: So we’re just gonna wait it out?
(Mark dully looks at zack, then looks back down)
Zack: Don’t do this man. You can’t give up. Would Johnny have given up? Or Mia?
(Mark shakes his head in denial)
Zack: I don’t wanna die … but I don’t wanna be alone here either. It’s not your fault or my fault. It’s this thing. (Points to roulette board)
(Mark lazily shuffles way to roulette board and drops to his knees. He begins to hit it in frustration)
(Zack stares in shock)
Zack: Mark, stop!
(Mark begins to hit the roulette wheel harder)
Zack: STOP!
(Zack tries to pull mark away from the wheel)
(Mark punches zack across the jaw and leaves zack dazed)
(They have a scuffle on the floor)
(It’s brutal and slightly awkward)
(Mark gains the dominant position and wails on zack)
(Slowly zoom in on roulette wheel as it begins to spin as zack a legs twitch following a punch from mark in the background)
(Wheel begins to slow down)(Before it stops cuts to black)

- The ball lands on the leader's number
- The guy who acts like the "leader" dies first.
- The a****** starts to jump into conclusions and blames the smart guy
- The gloomy girl defends the smart guy
- They get into an arguement
- Everybody eventually calms down
- The a-hole tries to find a way out
- The gloomy girl and smart guy think of their own plan
- The roulette board starts spinning, the gloomy girl tries to hold it in place, while the a-hole is still trying to find a way out
- The smart guy is pushing the a-hole to help them help the girl hold the board in place
- All three try to stop the wheel from spinning but it's too late
- The ball lands on the gloomy girl's number
- She collapses and dies.
- The smart guy blames the a-hole for the gloomy girl dying
- They get into another arguement
- The decide to sit across from each other and not talk to one another
- The smart guy can't take it anymore and hits the wheel out of frustration
- The a-hole tires to comfort him but he gets punched by the smart guy instead
- They get into a brawl
- The smart guy gets control of the fight as the a-hole is fading away (the wheel starts spinning)
- Smart guy wins the fight as the a-hole is out cold
- The ball lands on the smart guy's number as he turns around to the roulette board
- Cut to black

Part 1 - Filming Locations and Stock Footage
Filming Locations: Our film will be shot in the football locker room hallway. We decided to film here because we needed a small room with vents, pipes, etc. It fits the mood of our film and the atmosphere of the room matches the genre of our film. This will be the only location we will be filming in for our short film.

- To finish editing 2 weeks prior to the deadline, in case we have to re-film or edit anything in the film. That way, we won't be rushing to fix anything on the last day
- To edit, render, export and finalize the entire film a week before the deadline
- To work cooperatively with the entire group and to make sure everyone is on board with the film

SYNOPSIS:
Four teenagers who do not even know each other wake up in a dark, compact room. They have no idea how they ended up in this room or what purpose they have being there. All they know is that there is a roulette board in the middle of the room and they all have numbers (ranging from 1-4) on their arms that match the numbers on the roulette board. They try finding a way out of the room until the roulette board starts spinning and all the attention is focused on the roulette board. The group has no idea what is going to happen next.
