Each dyed fabric sample was inspired by the interior of the body, in the literal sense. 

 

Top Left: inspired by blood cells; shibori dyed fabric, embroidered with red and ombre orange thread

 

Top Right: inspired by skin cells under microscope; painted with wax (ovals/circles) then immersion dyed with red, then re-immersion dyed with navy

 

Bottom Left: inspired by another image of skin cells under microscope; painted with wax (tiny circles) then immersion dyed with light blue, then re-immersion dyed with green, used bleach pen for white circles, and embellished with navy blue sea beads

 

Bottom Right: inspired by muscles; immersion dye with light blue, then folded up and shibori dyed with red
