Our Generation

 

      “Our Generation” is one of my personal projects. I photograph people who were born after the 1980’s in China because I am a member of this generation. Based on societal factors, I think we all are special; we are different from our elders and the generations that came before. Different times, historical background, education and family create different people, through means of dress, style, posture, attitudes, beliefs. In the course of this project, I want to show the features, the personalities and a kind of unique qualities of our generation.

 

      Their sense of self is revealed by their clothing style they chose,  the attitude they show me and background they stand by, which represent their thoughts. They pose in a natural posture without my direction, not posing as a model. They also play a role in making a decision about the location of the photo shoot, where represent them in a proper way. Through the experience of working with them, I have discovered some of my own traits based on shooting other people in the same age group, sometimes they feel lik a mirror that reflect myself in this time.
