In this painting, I wanted to represent the National Museum in Serbia. Serbian National Museum is closed for ten years, and a large part of its collection can not be seen. This is my way to draw attention to the fact that the institution which represents and preserves culture is closed!
I put nylon on it, which stands for cultural suppresion. While I was working on this painting, I discovered beautiful arhitectural details on it, details you don't normally notice when you pass by this building in the center of Belgrade - Serbia's capital and heart of culture. I hope that I will soon discover all that's beautiful inside the museum, as I have discovered its exterior.
