BP OIL SPILL
Improving the oil clean-up process
In 2010, there were 6,104 animals that were collected dead mainly due to the BP Oil spill. Data showed an increase in animal casualties in the progression of five months. Why are these numbers increasing? Our investigation led to the oil clean-up process itself. It came to our attention that the protocol hindered efficiency, which we propose as a cause to the increase in animal casualties. Through data visualization, reframing, and diagramming we propose recommendations on how to improve the oil clean-up process.
This is a diagram of the clean-up process with four suggestion to increase efficiency.
