KOKi Beach

KOKi Beach is a concept capturing the essence of Costa Rica and it's eco friendly spirit, embracing the environment and community in which it lives. Working with principally local materials, artisans and incorporating reused, reclaimed and repurposed elements this unique space was created. It was accomplished through capturing such things as the wood from an abandoned finca in the mountains, which was repurposed for the tables and seating in the restaurant as well as the entry feature, the Bar bodega and decorative elements. Local river stones were used for the buildings support as well as the unique and beautiful bar back wall. The lamps are a combination of carvings by a tribal community in Bribri and a local artisan who specialize in beadwork. Koki Beach is a showcase of local craftsmanship and talent displaying how using the knowledge and traditions of the community one can truly create a modern and environmentally friendly space.
