A set of dragons. Each one given a different take on what a dragon is or what a dragon can be.
1. Vile Dragon. For this one the inspiration was Venom from Marvel's Spiderman and Alien from Ridley Scott. I wanted to get that feeling of evil, dark, and slithering.
2. I don't know what to call this one. But I wanted a dragon with a shorter neck and broader shoulders to give it the strenght it would need for a head on fight.
3. Marine Dragon. I wanted to break from the norm with this one. Instead of looking at repitles I felt more inspired by the vibrant colors of the betta fish, which are highly territorial.
4. Horned Dragon. This one was inspired mainly by bearded dragons and horned lizards.
5. Devil Dragon. I've done this dragon before but I couldn't get away from it and wanted to explore it some more. The massive horns and devilish grin gives it more intimidation. I also gave this one zygodactyl claws, two in front and two in back, found in some birds like owls, and that translates to an even stronger grip.
Step by step process. Step 1. Rough sketch.
Step 2. Textures were added and compiled on top of each other.
Step 3. Line art and textures were blended and roughs were detailed with a brush.
Step 4. Finishing touches.
