Verizon Messages

Did you know your carrier may have a desktop and/or web app for your SMS/MMS? Verizon does, as does AT&T. I haven't seen others, but I asume they exist. Verizon Messages on Android comes pre-installed on most VZW phones, and boy howdy it's ugly. And its Windows desktop counterpart doesn't always sync in real time, plus it's not touch friendly (no Store app version is available).

I do see LOTS of potential here however. I started to imagine Verizon Messages as a totally redesigned touch-friendly app for iPad, Android tablets and Windows devices. In the concept I started, I took the best of what exists in the app now and put those together with some new ideas to make the most of the user experience.

What's been added:

1) Tap a message to reveal options...
Star: Star favorite messages, then access them from the message list at the left (under Starred Messages).
Copy: Copy the message’s content to your clipboard to put in another thread or app.
Delete: Remove the message from the thread.

2) Archive! I added an Archive feature to move threads out of the message list. Archiving will move the thread to the user’s Verizon Cloud and still wil be accessible under "Go to Archive" in the message list.

3) Added access to Verizon.net email.

4) Added access to Verizon-stored contacts.

5) Added access to Verizon Wireless voice mail messages.

6) Added the ability to attach file links from Verizon Cloud and local device storage. The latter will require the file to first be copied to the user’s Verizon Cloud, then sent as a link.

7) Added a Sign Out option to allow multiple users (click the bottom right area where the signed in user is displayed).
