Discipline and creativity seem to be completely separate, or we may even say that they contrast greatly. Talking about discipline, we often imagine a system, a structure that is followed with strictness and restraint. On the other hand, creativity needs space for inspiration, time for imagination and freedom of visions.
My project reflects the discipline in how I built the structures, as well as the creativity in the way the viewers perceive the artwork.
The fact of creating a 3D object out of 2D materials fascinates me. The tedious, repeated process of building those structures becomes an opportunity for me to free my head with thoughts and emotions. The materials contribute an important roll in creating such steady structural yet delicate paper spheres. Those little individual sculptures become the very basic elements, just like bricks, that build up and develop to a visual documentation of how I exploring myself through the mean of time.
