hanakotoba
In Japan, every flower has a "hana-kotoba (literally means flower word)," or a short phrase that goes along with that flower. For example, the hanakotoba for a rose is "I love you." For this project, I created a series of six double exposure photos that overylays portraits of my friends with flowers that has a hanakotoba that matches their personality.
In order from top to bottom:
Iris: a kind heart
Lily: simple love, joy of life
Gerbera: perseverance, hope, progress
Tulip: empathy
Lilac: friendship, youth, memories
Jasmine: truth
