This piece was heavily influenced by Sparacus.  I used acrylic paint, and black ink.
This is the final sketch for the Surrounded piece (I was inspired by a promo ad I saw for the TV series). It was done in one of my sketchbooks, and for the actual final above, I ended up changing the woman's hairstyle and decided to make the hero and heroine the main foucus by using solid colors for the soldiers in the foreground and background.  To me this added a sense of not only are they surrounded by the solidiers, but by the red city around them as well.
