Phoua is a sculpture inspired by an object that my mother gave me, hence the name title is named after her. After much researching, I concluded that the object she gave me had a lot of references back to classical art.  I created Phoua after a female figure with much classical references. This piece is symbolic of the classical figure, Venus, yet alluding to my mother who is special to me. If you keep looking at the piece, I created a profile view of a portrait from the folds and waves from the drappery on the figure. Two symbolic female figure in one sculpture.
Clay and wood sculpture. I added spray white paint to make the sculpture have a shiny feel to it to have the marble feel from classical art sculptures, where I drew my instpirations from.
