The Breif:
To design a special keepsake publication which would accompany an exhibition celebrating Rudolf Hostettlers The Printers terms. The publication must be loose leaf insert, as the cover is to double as a poster. The publication is to be an exploration of information graphic design through evolving typographic perameters used as experiments to demonstrate how the text might be re-structured for contemporary users. For each page we were given strict limitations of what can be used on the cover and on each page which include: typefaces, type sizes, type weights, colour, and geographical elements.

My outcome:
Publication:
In my publication i chose to show evolution from page to page through subtle typographic changes, colour use and a layout that moves to make way for a mirror of the cover on the final spread. My aim was to create a clean, crisp layout which focuses on heirachy and order to give a simple to understand, easy to follow structure which gives utmost importance to the textual content. Following the CMYK colour scheme as used by printers, colour is used carefully and is limited inside which creates a stong contrast to the bright yellow cover/poster.

Poster:
Using the same typefaces as inside, and following the same colour scheme. The poster has also been designed as purely typographic. A textured background has been created by listing and repeating the terms from the publications content. I experimented to make sure it could be read and works well as both a cover and a poster.
