OVERVIEW
The personal goal of this project was to design a unique magazine experience. I challenged the format, layout, material, and interaction to create something that is innovative, experiential, exciting, and bold. Concept development included the magazine’s name, identity, print layout, digital layout, and interaction design.

PRINT
The print magazine provided unique challenges for creative interactive solutions, since print is conventionally considered more static than digital. To acheive a highly interactive experience, the cover is an acetate page with a texture printed on it, to hide the face on the cover. Readers are invited to reveal the face on the cover of the magazine themselves by peeling back the cover.

DIGITAL
Translating the magazine to a digital format (Apple iPad) provided more opportunity for user interaction. The challenge was to retain the interactive elements of the print design for a digital format. Instead of physically pulling back an acetate cover to reveal the person on the front, users can swipe away the “Who” logo, and the texture will gradually disappear.
