"The 1984 Nightmare"
The painting was done as a paraphrase of Henry Fuseli’s “The Nightmare” from 1782 and a reference to the book "Nineteen Eighty-four" by George Orwell.
First I made a digital photomanipulation (both from stock photos and my own). Then I separated the colours into different layers so I could print stencils in the correct size. These stencils were then cut with a scalpel and used when spraying the paint on the canvas. Final touchups made with acrylic pen.
