I was interested in the link between my memory of a space and its significance within time. When I created the work I was studying at CCW. The creative environment within the studios like in any art school seemed special. I wanted to capture this essence within an object. My intention was to create something which resembled the memory of the space rather than the literal representation of it.

Pages from sketchbook all show colours within the room which I identified I was also interested in the properties of ink which tend to bleed and fade over time much like a memory which exists as an intangible fading image.
The finished work consisted of blocks of plaster with clay press molded casting within. Fixings, parts windows and even hands of other students were casted to create each block. Ink was poured into the molds to enhance there form. The ink has faded over time from a deep blue (as seen below), to a faint and tinged colour. Rust from the fixings within also gave the piece a slight orange tinge in parts adding to the references of time memory and space.
