The users that interact with our installation have the possibility of creating their personal opinion about a couple that lives in a flat, by picking up some of their household objects which are being sold at a fictitious Garage Sale in an exhibition. Each of these objects contain a story about their lives, their habits and their secrets; when picking up an object the user is able to see on the TV a short flash of a memory that communicates something about them as a couple or as individuals. The memory is shown through the object’s point of view, which is fixed and neutral, so it is up to the user to fill in the gaps with their imagination by interpreting what they’ve seen (which can be influenced by different variables like which objects they picked up, how many objects, the order of the objects picked up, etc..)  and thus creating a personal and unique narrative.
A strong point of our project is given by the fact that it allows a simple intuitive physical interaction (picking up the objects) which makes the technology seem completely ubiquitous and seamless.  In addition, the user is left with more profound reflective interaction that takes place and builds up during and after the experience.

When the user picks up the lamp from the table a video of the guy putting on fish-net stockings appears on the TV.
When the user picks up the toy airplane, a video of a child's toys scattered on the floor appears on the TV.
When the user picks up the alarm clock from the table a video of her alone in the bedroom cutting herself appears on the TV.
When the user picks up the VCR tape a video of the couple watching TV with a nervous ambiance appears on the TV
When the user picks up the radio from the table a video of her washing the dishes bored appears on the TV.
When the user picks up the kettle a video of her cooking to herself while he's sitting on the table in the background eating appears on the TV.
When the user picks up the telephone from the table a video of her sitting, drinking and smoking alone appears on the TV.
