Near field communication is a microchip technology that we use everyday with PayWave credit cards. OnTap uses NFC as a replacement to the QR code, enabling people to simply tap with their NFC smart phone to receive customised information.
The brief required an identity that worked harder than just a logo, one that also communicated a targeted area to guide where to tap your phone, whilst adapting to changing information.
To draw attention within a busy context of signs and information and to reproduce consistently across digital and conventional printing, we chose a CMYK colour palette for the primary branding. The identity has the flexibility to take on any branded colour palette or specialised finishes, for example, reflective ink for fire safety equipment.
