Taj Mahal - India

This paper cut out light box is part of a series of lighboxes called "Places I would like to visit one day."  The piece was created using layers of paper which created the whole bulding and all its details.  Each layer is a different detail and is raised using double sided tape.  It was attached onto a piece of perspex cut to size and placed into a hand made wooden box.  Another piece of perspex was placed on top of the box to prevent the paper from getting damaged.  The light was placed behind the perpex and paper and it gave the piece an illuminating effect.  The wall behind it was painted grey which gave the box a blueish tint inside.  The entire piece was attached to a wall for display.
