United Nations Year of the Tree

This project was a short animated promo made by Shroomstudio for the United Nations to help them promote their 2011 Year of the Tree and was narrated by Richard Attenborough. I joined the Shroom team in their London studio for about a month to produce this scene in 3D, taking elements from other designers and animators on the team as well as providing them with assets for their scenes in return. I am especially proud of the line of leafcutter ants tumbling their way down the branch as we crane down the side of the tree, they're made of really simple polygons going through a displacement map, the illusion completed with a dancing piece of leaf carried by each of them.
