THE BLUES
The Indigo collection was created by me as a part of the SS 15 Collection for a brand called Motherearth as a part of my summer internship. The theme was predetermined by the Brand themselves and I was to help create prints for the same. The indigo collection is the brands core collection and is featured every season. The fabrics created are naturally dyed fabrics using natural Indigo.
The Fabrics are created using Block Printing using traditional mud resist techniques. As a part of the brief I was informed to make the prints based on the above limitations. The following contain the prints I have created for the retail brand. The prints have been converted into the final silhouettes created by me.
The collection has 3 Fabric bases - Mulmul, Cotton slub and crepe. The prints were created on two bases one being white on blue base fabrics and the other being blue on white base fabrics.
The designs created require a minimum of 2 separate block designs and some go upto 5 different block designs.

The fabric swatches developed are 100% cotton. The bases ranged from Mulmul, Slub and Chiffon fabrics.
